DESIGN & Engineering Services
The solar industry continues to grow and expand more rapidly every year, solar installers, solar projects, the change in technology and product advancements have created an increased need for professional engineering services. To better serve you, Solar First offers complete Engineering services and solutions for any size project. Throughout the United States many municipalities require certifications, structural, and electrical stamped engineering for residential and commercial solar installations, and as the industry continues to grow, Solar First continues to grow and we are proud of our Design & Engineering services.
OUR PROCESS
SITE SURVEY
Our projects start with a proper site survey to evaluate our clients existing:
- Structure & Roof Type
- Electrical panel, grid connection and energy load calculations
- Energy audit for other energy efficient solutions
- Estimated materials & Measurements
Once this is complete, our site survey specialist meets with our design team to start drafting the project prior to sending it to be engineered.
LAYOUT & SCOPE OF WORK
Here our design team drafts an initial layout draft & scope of work. This includes:
- Rough draft of system sizing
- Various Energy Storage options
- Details of any panel upgrades of energy monitoring devices
- Detailed material lists for project Quote/Bid
At this time, the design drafts and scope of work are sent back to our Project Coordinator to discuss with project and options with the client for final contract agreement.
Engineering Services
Once all the decisions have been communicated, the project engineer will get to work, putting the plans and drawings together! When completed, the client will receive a digital copy prior to stamps for review and final approval. Every completed project will be checked prior to shipping or emailing stamped drawings and calculations.
It is our goal to design field ready plans, that are easily understood, clear to follow and not confusing for the contractor.
Majority of projects can be completed and returned for approval within 4-5 business days!
